Violinist Tekla Cunningham will be performing a very relaxing concert at 7:30 PM (Wednesday, January 25, 2023) at the at Meany Hall—Katharyn Alvord Gerlich Theater.

From the Washington University website, Tekla will perform the Five Joyful Mysteries from Heinrich von Biber’s Mystery Sonatas, with readings of poems by Rainer Maria Rilke. Each sonata calls for a differing scordatura tuning of the violin, accentuating the character of each piece. The performance is one of three Cunningham will perform in Seattle-area venues, to complete the full cycle of 15 sonatas in the spring of 2023. With Henry Lebedinsky, organ and harpsichord; and David Morris, viola da gamba. See the Washington University website for further details.
