In this Clan Communique Anfrid de Canci is linked...
The de Morevilles have long been a mystery. How did they become so strongly linked to Clan Cunningham and the region of Cunninghame, and why do so many historians persist with the belief that the de Morevilles were superior to Clan Cunningham, despite the de Cunningham name suggesting that it was out ancestors who were the primary Lords of this area of Ayrshire. Today, we can finally say the de Moreville links to our Clan is now solved, and surprisingly the claims were partially correct, but the surprise is the claimed link to Cunningham was NOT the Cunninghame in in Ayrshire. Yes, the solution to this ancient mystery is there were more than one estate called Cunningham, and with 19th century historians being blinded with the importance of Kilmaurs and the larger region called Cunninghame in Ayrshire, we simply forgot to consider the other less famous possibilities.
