This Clan Article was published before we recovered the papers of Frederic van Bossen, and like many prior historical reviews, it was assumed that the primary lord of land in the Domesday book was the only person who could claim title to the land. Later this was found to be an error, and many lands have been transferred through marriages. As a result this study can largely be ignored, but some of the connections still are relevant.Â
