In a controversial 110m meter hurdles, Trey Cunningham took silver at the 2022 World Championships. During warm-up Olympic Champion Hansie Parchment pulled out, due to an injury to his leg, and then Devon Allen was disqualified for moving 1/1000th of a second before the permitted time. Trey Cunningham felt this was unfair, as his hands and feet were still on the ground.

In the final race  Grant Holloway won gold with a time of 13.03. Trey Cunningham finished second with a time of 13.08.
