In this review Dr. Derek Cunningham looks at the confusion surrounding the Earldom of Carrick held by the de bruce family and a second Earldom of Carrick held by Clan Cunningham. The study also revises the family line of the Cunninghame of Barns, and resolves the confusion surrounding the  time of Archbishop Sharpe.
